The SSM DePaul Health Center Auxiliary, established in 1960, provides opportunities to support the medical center and make a difference in the community. More that 500 men and women of all ages contribute time, talent and resources to raise money for service projects and social events that promote the health and welfare of the North County area and beyond. Auxiliary efforts have helped defray the cost of equipment and facilities that would not be available through other funding sources.

The Auxiliary has contributed to the following:

• The John L. May Community Education Center
• Lobby and waiting room renovations
• Stereotactic breast biopsy machine
• TomoTherapy cancer treatment system
• Expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department

Volunteers

Volunteers are essential to effective stewardship of health center resources. DePaul relies on these generous-hearted people in areas such as:

• Workroom to assist with mailings, stuffing patient information packets, assembling meeting materials and other routine projects
• Emergency Department to provide information, blankets and other assistance as needed by the medical staff
• Family waiting rooms to provide comfort services
• Information Desk
• Book fairs and other fundraising sales
• Gift shop and flower delivery
• Special Events
• Foundation Office
• Pastoral Care

To become a volunteer, you must complete an application, an interview and an orientation session. You are then assigned a role that best meets the health center's needs and fits with your interests and abilities.

Visit the SSM DePaul Health Center Gift and Flower Shop to choose from a tasteful collection of unique gift items, gift baskets and floral arrangements. Our on-site floral designer is available to create something special, fresh and made-to-order, just to delight and lift the spirits of your family member or friend.

The DePaul Gift and Flower Shop is located in the main lobby of the hospital.
