ST. LOUIS – SSM DePaul Health Center welcomes neurosurgeon Scott C. Kutz, M.D., to its medical staff, effective July 18. Dr. Kutz is part of the SSM DePaul Medical Group, and his office will be in the North Medical Office Building on campus, 12255 DePaul Drive, Suite 830. Dr. Kutz specializes in treating movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease as well as minimally invasive spinal surgery. He also will help provide neurosurgery coverage for SSM DePaul’s trauma services program. Dr. Kutz recently completed a fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his neurosurgical residency and surgical internship at Louisiana State University-New Orleans. “I am very excited to be a part of the health care team at SSM DePaul,” said Dr. Kutz. “My patient care philosophy is to treat patients like people, not surgical cases. For patients who require surgery, my goal is to treat them as effectively as possible with the latest minimally invasive technology available to minimize recovery time and maximize satisfaction.” As a resident, Dr. Kutz served on several boards and committees, including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. “Dr. Kutz is a highly skilled neurosurgeon who will greatly benefit the community with his innovative services,” said Melinda Clark, SSM DePaul president. Dr. Kutz can be reached at (314) 291-6556. SSM DePaul Health Center has a rich, 177-year history of providing quality health care to St. Louis-area residents.
