Mary Reedy, with Premier Care Orthopedics, has been named ‘National Orthopedic Nurse of the Year’! It is the highest award an orthopedics nurse can receive from the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON). Reedy was nominated by colleagues for her work at SSM DePaul Health Center’s Joint Replacement Center where she is known for delivering relationship-based care to all of her patients. Mary’s nomination was then selected by a national committee of nurses who understand first-hand the passion and practice of the complicated yet inspiring work of the orthopedic nurse. 

“It’s really special. First to be nominated but then to be selected, I’m just very grateful for such an honor,” says Reedy.

Reedy was honored at a recent NAON conference in Tampa, Florida. She says she’s been going to the event for years and always thought Nurse of the Year was a “really neat” award. She never dreamed one day she’d be on-stage accepting the honor herself.
